As you will see from the Release and Review Round-up section this week, all the reviews are out for the PlayStation Vita in anticipation for the US launch next week. This past week also included Valentine's Day so I hope you all treated your loved ones properly and had that returned. Of course you can't ever go wrong with getting a gamer more games, or in my case, nice sweet tickets to the Timberwolves next week. My Valentine knows what I like for sure!

- Bioware's lead writer is leaving to work on his own novels.
- Farcry 3 gets a release date and some updated screenshots.
- First there was Pigs in Space, now we have Birds in Space. Angry Birds Space flings its way to gaming platforms on March 22nd.
- Speaking of space, that's exactly where early copies of Mass Effect 3 will be heading.
- Just to confirm, because the reports on this from Sony last time were not enough for some- PS4 is not launching anytime soon.
- Amazon might have leaked the first sign of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Diablo 3 Update
Blizzard was quiet most of the week but then announced that they were preparing to drop Beta patch 13 before the weekend. As Friday night approached the forum trolls became restless. To no one's surprise, the Blizzard Blues on the forums announced that the Beta patch has been slightly delayed and they they are working through the weekend. So it's possible that this might still go up sometime today or tomorrow. I still don't have a key so not much of an impact to me, though I am curious to see if anything has been added to the Beta such as the Rune system. Just looking for any sign to signal of potential release date from Blizzard.
Well that's a wrap for this week. Another fun filled week of gaming is just ahead and the bigger releases of year are fast approaching.

Week in Review 2/6 - 2/10
Winter is normally a slow time in gaming for both news and releases. That usual format seems to be changing as there were some exciting releases and news tidbits this week. So let's just go ahead and get to the meat of this.

- If you haven't already, check out IGN's Start Channel on Youtube. They have a couple of fun segments on there from Naomi Kyle and Jessica Chobot.
- How about a video game that's based on a movie, that's based on a board game.
- For those waiting for the original Killzone to hit the PSN, it appears to have been delayed indefinitely. Here's hoping it's getting a nice HD makeover instead of just a PS2 release on the PSN.
- Remember Amnesia: The Dark Descent? No? Well the surprise hit by Frictional Games is getting a follow-up.
- Blizzard is not too happy with Valve and the use of Dota.
- Xbox Live updates for the week.
- PSN updates for the week.
- The PS3 got a new firmware update this week bringing your system up to version 4.10. I recommend this update as it has a significant update to the browser that finally makes it a viable option to use when it comes to online media content.

Asinine Review of the Week
Each week I'll try to find a review that just blows me away because of how ridiculous the score is (good or bad), reviewer bias or because a reviewer just flat out doesn't know what he's talking about. To start this off, I've found a perfect example:
The Simpsons Arcade Game by Gamespot's Tom Mc Shea - Review score 3.0
I don't think I need to explain too much on this one. It's apparent that Tom completely missed the purpose of this release. Fans of a game like this want it to be true to the original yet Tom reviewed this as though it should have been an updated version and entirely new.
Diablo 3 Update
Since it's still not coming out anytime soon, I'll provide an update for Diablo 3 each week until it releases. Perhaps I'll keep this segment for post release and chronicle my play each week.
On Thursday Activision Blizzard had their quarterly investors conference call. Blizzard's Mike Morhaime displayed a slide for Diablo 3 that simply stated Quarter 2. He went on to say that they are indeed targeting a Quarter 2 release. The term targeting when it comes to Blizzard is actually a frightening thing if you ask me, but should it stand true, we could see Diablo 3 release anytime from April 1 through June 30th. Morhaime also mentioned that they plan to give an update on the release within the next couple of weeks.
As for the Beta, it's still rolling along with the 100,000 invites that were sent out a couple of weeks ago. I wish I could give some actual updates on the Beta, but I've yet to receive an invite.
Well that's all I have for this week and I hope to add and change things as this goes from week-to-week. Please leave me some feedback and let me know what you like or don't like and I'll consider implementing the changes in the weeks following.

Welcome to The Corporate Gamer
This blog is intended for the working gamer that's looking for a single
spot to catch up on the news and reviews of the gaming world. As we go
about our daily lives, it's nearly impossible to keep up with what's hot
in gaming. Each Friday night or Saturday, I will post a run down of the
news that I feel is worthy of a read from the busy work week that just
ended. This will include some of my colorful commentary along with links
directly to the sources. Sources will include gaming sites from all
over such as IGN, Gamespot, Game Informer, Game Trailers, and so on.
